A brief Summary
I am a postdoctoral researcher in applied topology and statistics, working in the broad field of geometric data analysis.
In particular, I have been working mainly in:
topological data analysis: working with graph-like topological summaries (merge trees, Reeb graphs etc.);
optimal transport and Wasserstein metrics: developing extrinsic and intrinsic statistical tools to work with probability distributions (possibly on manifolds) exploiting the Wasserstein geometry.
Personal Information and Education
Spring 2024: I will stay in France for a research stay at Inria: from January to February at Inria Saclay, collaborating with prof. Steve Oudot; from March to April I will visit the Sophia Antipolis centre, collaborating with research scientist Mathieu Carriere. This research stay is partly funded by a travel grant I won at Otto Mønsteds Fond.
2022-2024: I started a 2 year postdoc at Aalborg University, Department of Mathematical Sciences, within the project "Deciphering Nanoporosity of Amorphous Materials using Topological Data Analysis" under the supervision of prof. Lisbeth Fajstrup and prof. Christophe Biscio. The project is funded by Independent Research Fund Denmark.
Spring 2023: I obtained a second PhD in "Data Science and Computation" at Universitá di Bologna, under the supervision of professor Piercesare Secchi.
Fall 2021: I obtained a PhD in "Matematical Models and Methods in Engineering" at MOX, Politecnico di Milano, under the supervision of professor Piercesare Secchi.
Bachelor and master degree in Mathematics, at Università degli Studi di Milano. The title of my master thesis is About the Picard scheme, supervised by Fabrizio Andreatta.
